All Positions

The following will be required for all candidates prior to active employment:

  1. School Personnel Health Record (physical examination) including TB test
  2. Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 Background Checks (must be less than one (1) year old)
  3. Act 168 - Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release(s)
  4. Employees must complete an Act 126 - Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting training course or provide a valid certificate (less than 5 years old)

Teaching Positions

All applicants for teaching positions are required to complete and turn in the following items:

  1. Standard PA Teaching Application
  2. Resume and Letters of Reference
  3. Valid PA Teaching Certificate
  4. Transcript(s) from college or university
  5. Credentials from college placement office (if available)
  6. Act 34 - Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check
  7. Act 114 - Federal Criminal History Record
  8. Act 151 - Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
  9. Act 168 - Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release

Support Positions

All applicants for support positions are required to complete and turn in the following items:

  1. South Western School District Support Application
  2. Health Assistant Application

Interested in being a substitute teacher but don’t have a teaching certificate?
The South Western School District is actively interested individuals who would like to be day-to-day substitutes. If you do not have a PA teaching certificate, but do hold a bachelor’s degree, there are several options available that would allow you to substitute.
